- Description
- One electrum coin of sixth-stater weight (Gordion inventory number 1104). Obverse: roaring lion head facing right. Reverse: single punch. Weight 2.35 g.
- Comments
- See No. 24.1-24.26. The two reverse punches of this coin are the same as those of a coin from the Artemision at Ephesus, which bears traces of an inscription, probably “WALWET” or Alyattes (Weidauer 1975, no. 103); the obverse may or may not have had this inscription; it is not preserved on the coin (Wallace 2006, 40).
