- Description
A Black on Red omphalos, cut down from a large phiale, presumably to be used as a stopper or game piece. A black ring encircles the omphalos, and four diagonally crosshatched triangles meet in the center. Upper side burnished, and underside red-slipped. Cf. PC 72 and see discussion in Chapter 1 on p. 7. Notice how the design is similar to that in the center of HoB 325.
