Reverse: oblong punch. 2844: diameter 0.0155, weight 4.92 g (Robinson) / 4.93 g (Aydemir et al); 2845: diameter 0.016, weight 5.23 g (Robinson) / 5.24 g (Aydemir et al); 2846: diameter 0.0145, weight 5.20 g. “Medium” (Robinson)/ “good condition” (Aydemir et al).
- Comments
- The later Type II Achaemenid sigloi represented by these coins show the King in an aggressive, running pose with bow drawn at the ready. A coin of this type was used as a seal on a tablet from Persepolis, dated to 500 BC, showing that this type of coin was in use by that time (Root 1988).
