- Description
The relief is tapered slightly toward the top. A raised ridge ran along the top, arching gently out from the background. In the center is a figure in a long simple cloak with three vertical folds and elbow-length sleeves. His r. hand is raised, fingers extended, in prayer. It is not clear whether this was a male or female.
This common type of figure and gesture is difficult to date on such a damaged piece, but a date in the 3rd or 4th C. A.D. seems likely.
- Condition
Marble.
Relief badly worn and surface abraded with no details. L. edge is original; break at r. cuts through figure.
