Comments

Rautman quotes P. Herrmann’s reading and translation.

1 cf. Sardis VII 1, no. 224, 19–24, stamped on utensils.

2 ΜΓA is, according to Herrmann, equivalent to “the first day of the third month”: μ(ηνὸς) (τρίτου) (πρώτη ἡμέρα). On the numbering of months in Sardis, see no. 585, 2 comm. The third month would correspond to Audnaios. - τμα´ indicates the year “341” of the Sullan era, corresponding to 256/57 AD (Herrmann).
