- Description
- This coin type: Obverse: Head of Athena in helmet r.; Reverse: Unc. rev., ΦΙΛΕΤΑΙΡΟΥ.
- Condition
- Worn
- Dimensions
- Weight: 3.41g; Diameter: 14mm.
- Coin Countermark
- Owl with wings outstretched, facing, 8-10 mm circle. On reverse. Possibly 2nd-1st century BC. cf SNG France 5:1695.
- Comments
- Westermark (1991) only lists Athena/coiled serpent with an owl countermark; these coins are likely to have had such a reverse. Countermark (Table App. 1.1) obliterates rev. type.
