- Tanım
- On the molding is a neat egg and dart; under it, a bull's head carrying a garland of leaves and fruit. A four-petalled rosette hangs over the garland. This is sketchy work, but the egg and dart, particularly, is done with a certain skill. If this is not part of a sarcophagus, but rather a frieze, it might be Hellenistic, but if indeed a sarcophagus, then the date should be considered early Roman.
- Condition
- Grayish coarse-grained marble, reddish discoloration. Smooth cut on l., an original join. Broken at bottom and r. side and chipped at top r. Top seems to have traces from sealing of lid. Bull's face split off.
- Boyutlar
- H. 0.295; W. 0.43; Th. at top 0.09, at bottom 0.125.
