3 Φιλιπίδο[υ]: my reading; Φιλίππου Herrmann. The second iota has the shape of a cross (originally iota with trema?). 4 A notarius (νοταρί/[ου] suppl. Herrmann) is a shorthand writer or a clerk. “Le mot est extrèmement fréquent à l’époque byzantine” (L. Robert, RPhil 1934, pp. 275–76 = Op. Min. II, pp. 1174–75); cf. H. C.
