- Probably EC. Nearly half of the foot. Exterior: four rays, their bases placed fairly far apart, spring from a single line of glaze at the juncture of the foot ring and the body. On the slope of the foot a thin reserved line followed by a band of glaze. Underneath, the resting surface of the foot is reserved. There is a band of glaze and a band of reserve on the slope. A broad circle of glaze decorates the convex area, with a dot in-circle at the center. Interior glazed. Glaze: glossy. Exterior, chocolate brown; interior, dark brown with a yellow tinge and worn. Clay: a large air pocket on the underside of the foot; otherwise smooth and somewhat powdery. The surface is stained with brown specks. Pinkish buff. Closest Munsell no. is 10 YR 7/4 (very pale brown). A similar but smaller foot fragment (uninv. PN 3/viii/64) was found at PN W 280.00 287.00/S 349.00- 350.00 *87.80 *85.90. The glaze has vanished.
